"The Long Walk Home"
This 36" x 60" piece was commissioned by a Lt. Col. in the Army who wanted to express the many emotions and challenges experienced during the "Long Walk Home," post-combat. In this case, he was motivated by his experiences during deployment to the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan.
I've worked extensively with both veterans and active duty military both as a psychologist and artist. My experiences with this dynamic group of people have deeply infuenced my perspectives of culture, trauma, and change.
